Elizabeth Akushey
Elizabeth Quarcoopome, who would become Elizabeth Akushey through marriage, was the ninth child of John Sackey Quarcoopome. Her position in the birth order placed her among the younger half of the siblings — a group that grew up watching their elders establish the family's initial reputation while finding their own ways to contribute.
The Quarcoopome household that Elizabeth knew was already seasoned. The routines of a large family were well established, the properties were generating their fruit, and the name was gaining recognition across Accra. Into this mature environment, Elizabeth brought her own particular gifts — a warmth of personality and a deep commitment to the bonds that sustained the family through its many branches.
As Elizabeth Akushey, she carried the Quarcoopome heritage into the Akushey family, creating new connections and extending the network of relations that makes the Quarcoopome dynasty so vast. Her life exemplifies how the family legacy travels through marriage, creating new roots while maintaining old ones.
“Warm, relational, and deeply family-oriented. Elizabeth understood that the Quarcoopome legacy lived not only in those who kept the name, but in those who carried its spirit into new families.”
